Microsoft RDP 6 Client Features Overview
With Microsoft Windows Vista released to manufacturing (RTM) and Longhorn on the radar screen, I thought it might be a good idea to post a link to an article describing the new features of the RDP 6 client. An article over at blandname.com describes these features in detail. One interesting feature to note is the Authentication options on the Advanced tab. If you have used the RDP 6 client (or are about to use the RDP 6 client soon), then you may run in to the following “error” when connecting to Windows Server 2003 or 2000:
“Remote Desktop cannot verify the identity of the computer you want to connect to. This problem can occur if:
1) The remote computer is running a version of Windows that is earlier than Windows Vista.
2) The remote computer is configured to support only the RDP security layer.”
To alleviate this error, simply change the Authentication options to not require authentication and you will no longer get prompted.

Would you describe how to not require authentication?
Thanks in advance.
