Citrix Presentation Server and Ardence OS Streaming

Back in January of this year, Citrix purchased a company named Ardence. In a nutshell, Ardence is an OS “streaming” technology that allows you to run multiple physical servers from a single virtual disk (vDisk) stored on the network. A more detailed analysis can be found on Brian Madden’s website. To see this technology in action, check out this Ardence OS streaming video.

Now, Wilco van Bragt has written an incredible article detailing the advantages and steps necessary to use Citrix Presentation Server with Ardence technology. Some of the steps involved are:

  • Tuning the registry
  • Tuning the IMA DSN (MF20.DSN)
  • Preparing the Local Host Cache
  • Preparing the local RM databases
