Microsoft will support Windows running in VMware ESX & ESXi

While Microsoft hasn’t officially made the announcement yet, according to Chris Wolf over at the Burton Group (see Chris’s post here “It’s official - Microsoft to support VMware“, Microsoft will now support Windows Server operating systems and Windows Infrastructure applications will be supported when running inside VMware virtualization software.

This is due to VMware joining Microsoft’s Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP). I applaud VMware for joining and I applaud Microsoft for supporting VMware ESX & ESXi, XenServer, Sun xVM, Virtual Iron, and of course Hyper-V  / Virtual Server 2005.
